The 11th Annual Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout
Friday July 21, 2006

This is a fund raiser for the Ed Posh Scholarship Fund, Inc., a not-for-profit 501c(3) charity that is independent of the Village Links. For more information about this organization visit www.edposh.org

The Shootout Entry Fee is $300 per player ($250 if paid by June 30). The Entry Fee includes Lunch, Range Balls, a Scholarship Shootout Tee Gift, Green Fee, Motorized Cart, Prizes, Dinner & Party, and a donation to the Scholarship Fund. Plus, every Shootout Contestant can invite one adult guest to the Dinner & Party at no extra cost.

The Shootout is an 18-hole 2-Best Ball Foursome. The Committee will provide handicaps for contestants without an established USGA Handicap Index.

Shootout Finals - Every Shootout Contestant will compete in a Closest To The Pin Contest on all four of the par 3 holes. The eight golfers who win those contests in the morning and afternoon shotgun starts will participate in the Shootout Finals. The Shootout Finals will be a 150 yard single shot to the 18th green. First prize for the closest-to-the-pin in the the Shootout Finals wins $1,000 in cash.

The Dinner and Party - Join Guest of Honor Ed Posh in an evening of casual elegance. A Cash Bar will be available throughout the evening. Piano soloist Joe Angel will entertain during the cocktail hour. My Chef of Naperville, our long-time Shootout Dinner and Party coordinator has another stunning evening planned. Enjoy dancing after dinner with live entertainment provided by the Tom & Carey Duo.

The Silent Auction will include an interesting selection of gifts, many of which are golf or sports oriented. These include foursomes at some of the top public and private courses in the Chicago area. The larger gifts will be available during the Live Auction.

You can donate a prize for the Scholarship Shootout
We need prizes of all types, big and small. In the past, prizes included
an African Safari, a decorative basket, a Chicago Bulls Skybox,
dinner for two, sports and theater tickets, artwork, and jewelry.
Many of these prizes are auctioned off, with
the proceeds going directly into the Scholarship Fund.
All donations are acknowledged in the
Scholarship Shootout Program Booklet.

You Can Help Organize and Run The Scholarship Shootout
We are seeking volunteers to help run this fun event. We need people like you to help
solicit hole sponsors and prizes, to help stage the dinner party and auction,
to coordinate volunteers, and to help with publicity.

You Can Volunteer on the Day of the Event
We need individuals to help with a variety of set up chores before, during and
after the event. Anyone who can lend a couple of hours before or after their round
can join in the "fun". (It really is.)

You Can Help Spread The Word
If you know of someone who might be able to help in any of the above, please mention
these opportunities. The Ed Posh Scholarship Fund and the Scholarship Shootout
owe their existence to the spirit of community and family promoted by Ed Posh
at the Village Links. Everyone's help and participation is appreciated.
Talk to Ed Posh, Matt Pekarek, Jeff Vesevick, or
Noel Allen at the Village Links (630) 469-8194.
