Over 500 guests stopped by during the 2011 Holiday Open House. They toasted the season, enjoyed holiday treats and more than a few bounced on Santa's lap.
10:00 AM Sunday November 20 The Iron Man Open, open to both men and women, is a fun 2 Person Combo Event consisting of 6 holes of Scramble, 6 holes Alternate Shot, and 6 holes of Better Ball. We will provide Chili, Hot Dogs, Drinks and Hors D’ouvres. Everyone who enters wins a prize from the Golf Shop (over $5,500 in prizes in prizes awarded last year). The field is limited - a maximum of 72 two-person teams will shotgun at 10:00am. No Handicap required, Peoria Handicap System will be used. Our Goal: No Aeration Surprises. We publish our aeration schedule in advance and notify you of greens aeration when you schedule a tee time.
Greens - We offer week-long 25% green fee discounts the week of greens aeration and recovery. 9-hole greens will be aerated October 3, with green fees discounted through October 11. 18-hole greens will be aerated October 11 & 12, with green fees discounted through October 18. Fairways - We will spike fairways instead of aerating them. Spiking does not pull any soil from the ground and causes much less mess. The course is playable immediately after a fairway has been spiked. Beginning September 6, we will spike 1-2 fairways a day. We will finish by mid-October. Website Updates - Throughout the Fall our website will feature aeration updates, complete with daily photos of current green, tee and fairway conditions. Our goal - no aeration surprises for Village Links golfers.

Janet Moore fired a 75 to win the Women's Club Championship. Some of Our Greens Even TASTE Great 2011 is the first year that we are serving Village Links golf course grown produce in the Village Links Grill. Golf Course Superintendent Chris Pekarek is growing 100% organic vegetables and herbs without any fertilizer or pesticides. The produce is harvested daily and served to Grill patrons within hours of being picked. Growing produce locally also helps the environment by saving delivery fuel and reducing traffic.
16th Annual Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout Thank you to everyone who participated in the 16th Annual Ed Posh Scholarship Shootout on Friday July 15, 2011. It was a great day for golf, dinner, dancing and summer fun! Participants raised thousands of dollars to support the 17 Ed Posh Scholars attending college in 2011. Visit www.EdPoshScholarship.com. USGA Public Links Championship Qualifying Craig McDonnell of Evergreen Park, IL shot an even par 71-73-144 to take medalist honors in the 36-hole U.S Public Links Championship Qualifying at the Village Links of Glen Ellyn Monday June 6. McDonnell was one of three qualifiers to advance to the national championship that will be played at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Bandon, OR June 27 - July 2, 2011. This was the 40th USGA / PGA TOUR Championship conducted at the Village Links. Results Facility Master Plan Looking at Improvements to Clubhouse and Site The Village Links is developing a Facility Master Plan to address several deficiencies in and around the clubhouse. While plans are still in the concept stage, we welcome your questions and comments. You can learn about the current plan at a special online Master Plan FAQ. The public is invited to attend a meeting of the Recreation Commission at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center Wednesday June 15, 2011 at 7:30 PM where the Master Plan will be presented.

Join us for two days of fun, with over $50,000 in prizes and giveaways. 18 Hole Friday, 18 Hole Saturday, 9 Hole Saturday Long Drive Contest, Chipping Contest, Putting Contest Wayne and Scott Nowicki shot a gross score 68 to win the Spring Scramble on Saturday, April 2. Ken and Joe Wark shot a net 64.7 to win the net division. Eight skins were won on Sunday in the first annual Spring Skins Game. Jay Todisco and Tom Burke led the way with each taking home two skins.
