    Conservation in Action

The Village Links of Glen Ellyn has participated in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for Golf since 1991. The program assists golf courses in protecting the environment. The program goals include enhancing the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improving efficiency, and minimizing potentially harmful impacts of golf course operations. These goals are achieved by addressing the following areas:

  • Environmental Planning
  • Wildlife and Habitat Management
  • Chemical Use Reduction and Safety
  • Water Conservation
  • Water Quality Management
  • Outreach and Education

The Village Links is a leader for golf and the environment becoming the first public golf course in the nation to be designated a Certified Wildlife Sanctuary Golf Course in 1993.
