Timeline

A brief history of the Master Planning process to date.

December 9th, 2021

General Manager Jeff Vesevick, Director of Golf Noel Allen, and Golf Course Superintendent Andrew Cross have lunch with Greg Martin of Martin Design Golf to discuss Greg creating a new Master Plan to address weaknesses and deficiencies on the Golf Course.

March 25th, 2022

Greg presents to the Recreation Commission on the value of creating a Master Plan, especially with regards to the "cost of doing nothing".

September 16th, 2022

Contract between The Village Links and Martin Design Golf to begin the Master Plan Concept phase is signed.

September 27th, 2022

First meeting of pricipals to begin outlining the Master Plan Concept by identifiying Village Links' needs and project goals.

October 19, 2022

As part of the 1st Iteration of the Master Plan, Greg delivers a Preliminary Draft Report. More site visits are planned to begin fleshing out project goals into action items.

November 14th, 2022

The 1st Iteration Draft Concept Review is delivered. Village Links staff provides feedback to Greg to hone the design.

March, 7th, 2023

2nd Iteration of Master Plan is delivered.

April 6th, 2023

Greg meets with Village Links staff to review the 2nd Iteration of the Master Plan. Consensus is reached with regard to the requested changes.

January, 2024

Discussions are held regarding holding meetings to present the plan to interested members of the public.

March 26th, 2024 & April 3rd, 2024

The Village Links holds two public meetings discussing the Master Plan, including the reasons for the project and the proposed changes. Greg presents the plan and takes questions from the audience. Feedback was solicited from the general public.

July 26th, 2024

Greg presents the Concept Verification to the Recreation Commission.

August 7th, 2025

Contract is signed with Martin Design Golf to begin Concept Verification phase of development.

October - December, 2024

A number of meetings and updates are held to develop a final Concept Verification.

February 28th, 2025

Final Concept Verification is presented to the Recreation Commission.

  • Iron Man Open

    Format: Two person scramble on holes 1-6, two person better ball on holes 7-12, two person alternate shot on holes 13-18.

    Scoring: The event will be scored with the USGA recommended handicap allowance for each 6 hole sub event. Players with no handicap service will be playing as a scratch.

    Date: Sunday, November 9th, 2025.

    Tee Time: 10:00 AM shotgun start.

    Cost: $150 per person. Price includes 18 holes of golf with cart, free warm-up bucket, all-you-care-to-eat chili and hot dogs before and during your round, 3 drink tickets for a beer, wine or soda, light hors d'oeuvres after your round, and prizes (everyone guaranteed a prize).

    Eligibility: Open to all golfers. An active World Handicap is required to receive a handicap for the event.
