The Swingin’ Set is a weekly ladies competitive golf league that plays at the Village Links of Glen Ellyn on Tuesdays, late April through September. The 9-hole division tees off between 7:10 AM and 9:40 AM and the 18-hole division tees off between 6:50 AM and 8:20 AM. Annual league membership dues are $25.00. We require the use of the Chicago District Golf Association (CDGA) as a handicap provider; the annual membership fee is $40.00.
The Swingin’ Set Golf League has a limit of 80 members for the 9-hole division and 65 members for the 18-hole division. Prospective members are prioritized in the following manner: returning members, then those who live within the Glen Ellyn corporate limits, then non-residents.
Who is eligible?
The Swingin’ Set is a league for golfers with an established handicap. New members will be accepted on a provisional basis for the season if a handicap within the required limit is demonstrated:
- 9-hole division = handicap of 36 or less (~ average score of 72, or lower)
- 18-hole division = handicap of 40 or less (~ average score of 112, or lower)
How do I satisfy the handicap eligibility requirement?
The new member will provide the Membership Chairperson with her handicap# from CDGA for verification.
What if I do not yet have a handicap?
Please contact Membership Chair Carol Scott and she will pass your name to Head Professional Mike Campbell at the Village Links Pro Shop. He will then contact you about the process of establishing a handicap through the CDGA.
As a new League player, can I participate in each week’s event?
Yes – Every League player is encouraged to play every week and will receive participation points for each day played as well as prize points for events won. Yearend cash prizes are awarded for each point earned.
