Meet Andrew

Andrew and Dogs

Kane Elizabeth (left) is a 10 yr old Pitbull Lab Mix. Stella (right) is a 7 yr old Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier Mix.

Meet Andrew Cross, our new Golf Course Superintendent and his geese herding dogs (both rescues), Kane & Stella. Andrew will be working alongside our current superintendent, Chris Pekarek to ensure a smooth transition before Chris retires in May.

Andrew's Bio:
Andrew began his agronomic career over 20 years ago. He comes to us with a vast background of experience and an in depth understanding of what it takes to maintain a busy and successful golf course. Prior to Village Links, he was the Assistant Superintendent at Arrowhead Golf Club, and has managerial experience at other clubs including Oakland Hills, Exmoor, Lake Shore, and Ravisloe Country Clubs. His accomplishments include guiding Arrowhead through the Audubon Certification Process. Andrew is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Turfgrass Management.

  • Village Links Amateur

    Format: Individuals play 18 holes of stroke play. Male golfers will play from the white tees, female golfers from the red tees. Players will be flighted by handicap into 6 groups. The lowest 4 gross scores from Saturday and the lowest 4 gross scores from Sunday in each flight will qualify for the matchplay tournament.

    Eligibility: Any golfer who holds a CDGA handicap and either a Resident Card or VIP Card.

    Qualifier Tee Times: Players golfing in the Permanent Tee Times between 5:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Players outside of the Permanent Tee Times will play beginning immediately after the permanent times.

    Sign Up: Players in the Permanent Tee Times sign up on the 1st tee. Players outside of the Permanent Tee Times must sign up by April 24th at 5:00 PM.

  • Junior Camps
    Half Day Sign-up
    All Day Sign-up

    The Village Links Junior Lesson Program offers a choice of Half Day Junior Golf Camps and All Day Junior Golf Camps. Half Day and All Day Junior Golf Camps are single day packages for boys and girls ages 8 & Up. We recommend that juniors with little or no experience start in Half Day Junior Golf Camps. All Day Junior Golf Camps are limited to the first 12 juniors to register and Half Day Junior Golf Camps are limited to the first 14 juniors to register.

  • Summer Junior League

    Our summer junior golf league is designed to bring a “Little League” atmosphere to the game of golf. With teams of boys and girls, age 8 to 13, the league provides a structured environment for young golfers to compete and have fun! This is a great way to get – and keep – kids involved in the game!

    Registration will begin on February 3rd and run until May 1st. There will be space for 96 players. As in previous years, any players registered over the limit may be accepted as substitute players not assigned to any team.

  • Adult Group Lessons

    Evening Group Lessons for Adult Beginners are offered in 3 concentrated 60-minute sessions. The lessons cover the basic concepts of the game of golf. Students will be taught the fundamentals of full shots, chipping, putting, and sand shots. They will be taught how to practice these shots on their own. Each class will be limited to 6 students and all classes will be conducted by the Village Links Golf Professional staff. The cost is $89 for the three lesson series.
